Are you looking for a variety of cuts in smaller quantities? You’re in the right place! Choose your favorite Large Black Pork cuts. Each cut is cryovaced in plastic for long-term storage and frozen. Each cut is available by the package. Fill out the ORDER FORM, and we will contact you to review your order.

Large Black pork offers delectable pork with the fantastic flavour of outdoor-raised, heritage pork but with a lower fat content than breeds like the Mangalitsa and the Ossabaw Island Hog. Our pigs are raised on the prairies of Alberta in the great outdoors. Our Large Blacks are grown out for a minimum of twelve months. They have access to forage and dirt to root and bask in the sunlight. They are fed a custom feed designed for the Large Black breed; our feed is always soy and corn-free and sourced with local grains.

  Our pigs are processed at a local, provincially (Alberta) inspected abattoir. In doing so, we can offer you the best cuts and custom choices of Large Black pork.

How do the animals live?

Hogs & Horns Homestead raises all our animals’ hormone and steroid free. In doing so, we can raise them in an outdoor pasture setting, which allows them to live a stress-free life with plenty of exercise, fresh air, sunshine, pasture, and the ability to forage.

What’s The Major Difference In Taste & Quality Of Our Meat?

Since all our animals have a slower growing time and longer lifespan, their meat and fat are dispersed differently. Each meat profile is unique. For the best results, check out our tips and tricks to cooking heritage pasture meat. 

Our Swine’s Diet

Provided access to Alberta’s natural weeds, grasses, and foliage. We try to avoid any GMO, soy-based products for our swine. They receive high-quality custom feed, hay and, when season permitting, pasture.
