Parted Chicken – Farm Processed

Large Parted Chicken (Approx. 5-8 lbs.)

Hogs & Horns Homestead raises their large parted chickens hormone and steroid-free in an outdoor pasture setting. They are fed free choice soy-free complete feed made in Alberta. They are raised outside on pasture. Doing so, allows our chickens to live a stress-free life with the ability to move around, and enjoy fresh air, and sunshine. We raise, finish, and process all our chickens on Hogs & Horns Homestead. We butcher under the on-farm-slaughter program of Alberta, which means all of our chickens come un-inspected. How Our Program Works:

Through the on-farm slaughter program of Alberta, we sell our animals as “in-live-animal” before harvest by preorder. We then grow and harvest your animal on Hogs & Horns Homestead. Please review our terms & conditions for on-farm-slaughtered meat. Order your chicken for you and your family by March 30th, 2024.  We will then raise them throughout the summer months. At butcher time, Hogs and Horns Homestead will determine the final dressed weight of your parted chicken. We will then process and notify you when your order will be ready to pick up on the farm or arranged meetup at one of our locations in October. You will receive an update by October 1st to finalize pickup/meetup dates. Edmonton, Sherwood Park, Leduc, Spruce Grove, Lacombe, Red Deer, Calgary and Lac La Biche parking lot pickups are available this year!!

Total weight varies between each animal. Your meat will come in plastic vacuum packaging and is frozen unless otherwise requested. 

PRICE

The deposit to reserve is $15/chicken. This deposit is subtracted from your total owed. The final price is calculated on the dressed weight of a whole bird, $8.25/lb. parted.
